We assisted Pernilla Ohrstedt studio with the detailed design of the Video Games exhibition at the V&A. The design created 4 distinct environments to act as backdrop for the exhibitions narrative. The primary space, showcasing the design process of 8 game studios created the illusion of an endless render space, the exaggerated depth being created by a light weight scrim stretched around a series of aluminium frames. These scrims were used to define the areas of display and conjure a distance fog effect. Where screens were required the scrim was doubled up with a sewn panel of fabric suspending the projected image in space. The rhythm of the exhibition shifted as it moved through the remaining rooms, from carefully designed desks that enabled a viewer to focus in depth on a particular topic, to an all encompassing quadrant shaped cinema space illuminated edge to edge and continuing off into a reflected curve and ones periphery.
